This day it was found by the Bailies [Magistrates]
That Thomas Ednem troubled Thomas Kirkwood
And struck at him with a golf club and
hurt John Allan’s wife with that strike and
thereafter drew a knife to him and hurt
his own wife with it to the effusion
of her blood. And also that his wife testified
that the said Thomas called him a thief
and that she should see his blood cold on the
causeway and ordained the said Thomas
Ednem and his wife to ask the said Thomas
Kirkwood forgiveness and also ordaining
the said Thomas Ednem to remain in ward
until he finds security for his unlawful behaviour and
bloodshed.
