Thomas Graham’s Diary – 4th August 1939

Graham’s August entries open with a short one, which gets straight to the point. On the anniversary of Britain’s entry into World War One, only 25 years previously, Graham conveys his dismay at the present international situation which indicates all the signs of a similar fate fast approaching. He proclaims “what BABIES men are! How intolerably and incredibly SILLY!” and in many ways, it is hard to argue with him.
